Stranger

27 Aug

Image

I danced with a stranger tonight

charming southern man, tall in height

we laughed and smiled as our souls played

it was pure & innocent- we were both saved-

he tilted his hat and leaded me on

as we swiveled and stepped through two or three songs

his vessel smiled, mines was appeased,

for once in this life there was no game or tease

when the juke stopped, he turned & said

little miss that sure was nice”

and I was sure that the heat was messing with my head

when I got home- what do y’know-

I found a small pink paper stashed in my throw

my heart fluttered like a butterfly playing in a nice steady breeze

and my- I could not believe the spell he had cast on me!

I held on tight to the scent of his cologne…

the moment I danced with that stranger

I realized I would never be alone

Prompt 15: Childhood Dreams

Prompt 15

Prompt 15: Childhood Dreams

When I grow up

I want to write books

sing in a band

be a pastry cook

I’d scribble in a million libretas

jotting down every thought

not skipping a recipe

or anything I was taught

When mommy woke & went for the kitchen

as did my eyes

I’d sit and read the paper-

I was only but 5.

I’ve always dreamt of seeing my work

In books, publications, articles-

Lurk-ing

I have many dreams that remain stashed in my mind

They too shall come to pass given time.

Correlation

Correlation

Six strings.

Ten fingers.

A little squeaky,

she’s a ringer.

Got her cheap-

My 14th birthday.

Play her often

every Thursday

not a quitter.

Fan of classic,

folk

one hitters- all fantastic-

Anyways, back

to July

she turned 10

how proud am I?

Aren’t we all?

Rabbiting through the chords

over the neck

getting bored, what the heck?

Always learning

never developing

I keep changing

never evolving

anyways, I’ve got some books

quite a few

I’ve seemed to hook

never read them

never much though

now I get it-

reap what you sow

don’t we all?

As for the latter

not necessarily

some oppressed

other barely merrily

where’s the justice?

Wheres the lesson?

What to take from

this development?

Anyway, we’ve all been took

smile it off just for a look

like us all.

Like us all.

Bad

26 Aug

Bad

I have a lot to learn

I want to fill some shoes and grow

I have a lot to grow

Like the warm from beneath the snow

I have a ripe bitterness

of that I fight to suppress

I have a lot

of them I wish to not

So sing me pray, a petition, a please

For I ave a lot of dark deep inside of me

A limerick

26 Aug

A limerick

I once met a woman with a pickle for a nose

Plums for eyes baby carrots for toes

She had lips of bananas hair of spinach leaf

Breasts of melon & those I did not eat

Laugh if you wish I do not care nothing was more funny than her candy apple derrière
